I have often been asked about my photography but I am far from an expert. I hadn’t really picked up a camera until the beginning of last year when I started this blog. My first efforts were laughable and can still be seen somewhere on here, unfortunately. I have learned through trial and error and with a little help from my son as well as some online research.
And now along comes this amazing book which contains everything I could ever need to know about taking beautiful photos. If you have never been to the blog, Spicie Foodie, you are in for a treat. She takes the most incredible moody photos and has now written this book, Yummy Pics, A Food Blogger’s Guide to Better Photos. Only $8.99, by the way.
But this is not a book just for food bloggers, it is for anyone who wants to get the best out of their camera. Nancy guides you step by step through all the most important functions of DSLR camera. It is also about you developing your own style of photography, a style which comes instinctively to you and reflects who you are.
This book will also give you tips on composition and styling, those elusive things that many think are inborn but which we can develop by following a few rules like the two-thirds rule. There is also a walk-through of Nancy’s shooting, photo editing software information, basic photo editing, and preparing your images for the web. You name it, it has been covered in this book.
There are 12 chapter (115 pages) all laid out in a clear, logical way with heaps of lovely photos to show you the difference between the various camera settings and also to demonstrate the rules of composition etc.
Click here to buy this book. It’s only $8.99.
