Salad last night so hamburgers tonight – got to balance life out a little. Not that these could be categorized as unhealthy. I even made my own beef patties so I know what is in them. I did stack them a little high with goodies and it was a struggle to get my mouth around the whole burger, but it was worth it for the great flavour.
This recipe is not low Fodmap.
Chilli Sauce Hamburgers

Ingredients
- 500g mince meat
- Cumin seeds
- Salt & pepper
- Edam cheese, sliced
- Avocado sliced
- Tomatoes sliced
- Alfalfa Sprouts
- Onions sliced
- Lettuce
- Burger buns
- Hummus
- Chilli sauce
- Plain yoghurt
Method
- Mix the mince with cumin seeds, salt & pepper, form into patties and fry in a little oil.
- Fry onions slowly in a little olive oil until caramelised.
- When the patties are almost done, top them with a slice of cheese so that it melts.
- Mix the chilli sauce with the yoghurt to create the burger sauce.
- Toast the buns under the grill in the oven.
- Spread the hummus on the bottom buns and place the patties on top.
- Then assemble the rest - sauce, onions, tomatoes, avocado, lettuce.
