I am thrilled that Heather has just posted my recipe on her blog, Mommypotamus. This is a recipe which I make for Adriano and Dario. I can’t eat it on a low FODMAP diet because of the honey and all the dried fruit in it. It would be too high in fructose for me, but for any other “Normal” person, this is a super healthy, refined sugar and wheat-free granola bar. Please pop over to her blog for the recipe. Heather is a great lady and mother and you will love her posts on healthy eating and living. Thanks so much, Heather.

I love chewy bars like this, studded with good things!
Suzanne says
I like your word “studded”. That’s exactly what they are.

They look right up my alley. Dried fruit and honey. I so would love them for breakfast. love the photo too

I would really like to make these but would need to omit the dried fruit and honey. I can sub honey with rice malt syrup but what would I replace the dried fruit with? Leaving them out would reduce the volume of the recipes too much. Too many nuts aren’t good for the tummy either…suggestions?
Suzanne Perazzini says
You could use either maple syrup or rice malt syrup instead of the honey but these really are not bars for those of us on a low FODMAP diet as I said in the post. These were for a guest post on a Paleo blog.

You have apricots and dried fruit in your recipe for breakfast bars/snack bars yet you call it a low FODMAP recipe. I have read that these are high FODMAP foods. Can you explain?
Suzanne Perazzini says
I actually explain in the text that it is a guest post but that it is not a low Fodmap recipe. In fact the recipe is not on my site.
