If I am wanting to make a quick low Fodmap vegetarian recipe that everyone will love because the word pizza is in the title, then I make this - pita pizza. I usually make my own dough in the bread-maker but you do have to wait while it is being made so this recipe is a quick alternative. You can really use whatever you have in the fridge that is low Fodmap as toppings and you can certainly add some meat if you are not wanting a vegetarian meal, but these days I am trying to eat about 4 vegetarian dinners a week to reduce my intake of animal meats and fats so I like to have a repertoire of quick vegetarian meals up my sleeve. We can have 5 cherry tomatoes so perhaps check that your pizza is not over that limit. Reflux symptoms
Most people think of reflux symptoms as being heartburn in the chest or the feeling of acid coming up the oesophagus into the throat. But, it is not necessary to have those symptoms to have reflux. In this video, I explain what other symptoms might be indicative of reflux and what to do about it. Transcription of Reflux Symptoms Welcome to this video. Today I want to talk to you about reflux symptoms. I have done another video on reflux and what foods to avoid, but I want to go again over the symptoms of reflux because so many people don't know they have reflux. They think that it's going to be heartburn, that feeling of burning in their chest, or the feeling of acid coming back up into the throat, and those are two of the symptoms, but you don't necessarily have to have either of those to have reflux. About 80% of people with IBS have reflux and scientists think it's the same mechanism in both that causes them. So the possibilities are fairly high that you do have it, even … [Read more...] about Reflux symptoms
Parmesan and Spinach Balls
This low Fodmap vegetarian recipe calls for just a handful of simple ingredients. These spinach balls cover all the necessary food groups, and they’re perfect as a complete morning or afternoon snack or as nibbles to serve guests when they drop around for drinks. For a little variety, make them with kale instead of spinach and replace the Parmesan with any mature cheese. Serve them with a garlic- and onion-free mayonnaise, if you like. This recipe comes directly out of my book, The Low FODMAP 6-Week Plan & Cookbook, which you can find online in hard copy or Kindle or in any good book store. There are 99 other low Fodmap recipes. How I prepare a Low Fodmap Snack
Those of us with IBS need to be eating 5 small meals a day and one of the most asked about meals is the morning or afternoon snack. Eating Low Fodmap on holiday
Many of you are anxious when going on holiday because of the difficulties involved in sticking to the low Fodmap diet. The video today was shot after a holiday to Europe, when I visited several countries. I talk about my experiences during the holiday on eating safely and I mention a couple of times when things went wrong. Transcription of Eating Low Fodmap on holiday As most of you will know, I've just been away for a month in Europe and I got back yesterday. So I'm pretty jet lagged. But I thought you might like to hear how the trip went from the point of view of eating low FODMAP. It all went actually really well, surprisingly. I went through Italy, Austria, Hungary and Croatia. And for each country, I had written up a laminated card in the language of the country; no garlic, no onions, no beans. Because those are my three big triggers. I'm not lactose intolerant at all. I have no problem with that. So I used Google Translate to get the translation. In Italian, I knew it … [Read more...] about Eating Low Fodmap on holiday
Low Fodmap Chicken Milanese
This is a long-standing favourite recipe. It is delicious and so moreish. It is a bit messy with the eggs and breadcrumbs but not too time-consuming and the result is well worth the effort. The whole family will love this for sure. Serve with a starchy vegetable like potatoes or sweet potatoes and a mixed salad for a perfectly balanced meal with all the macro-nutrients and many micro-nutrients. If your tolerance to fat is particularly low, especially for those with no gall bladder, then perhaps bake these in the oven instead of frying them. 5.0 from 1 reviews Low Fodmap Chicken Milanese Print Prep time 15 mins Cook time 6 mins Total time 21 mins Author: Suzanne Perazzini Serves: 4 Ingredients 2 chicken breasts 2 eggs 1½ cups low Fodmap breadcrumbs 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley ½ tbsp of lemon rind 1 tbsp ground almond 1 teaspoon salt Ground black pepper 3 tablespoons olive oil Lemon juice Method Slice the chicken … [Read more...] about Low Fodmap Chicken Milanese
