I have IBS with constipation and that means I have to work hard on my fibre levels without tipping the balance over the line into symptoms. Too much fibre is a disaster for bloating and cramping but too little and the constipation worsens. So I have oats every morning – just the permitted 1/4 cup raw, but I am getting a little bored with it so I have made it into muesli. I have added all sorts of low Fodmap goodies and now my breakfast is much more interesting. Watch my video to see me making it. I add yogurt and fruit to this mixture.

This looks tasty, I have been living on porridge and would love some change – I take it that if this contains 3 cups of oats that the recipe makes 12 servings based on 1/4 cup of oats per serving? What is a cup in volume please/ how much is 1/4 cup oats in weight? – I am not accustomed to using cups here in the UK – and I think they probably differ in size from yours !
Why do you have your oats raw and not made into porridge – I make my porridge with water.

Yes, 12 servings. It’s important for you to get the Monash University app and follow the amounts in there. They also have the weights. You can make it into porridge if you want.

Hi Suzanne,
Thank you for the recipe, but I´m a bit bewildered.
What is the white powder you pour in after the oats?
I can´t find it in the list of ingredients.
Best wishes Ulla from Denmark
Suzanne Perazzini says
That’s coconut.
