I guess most of us with irritable bowel syndrome who have been through the reintroduction stage of the low Fodmap diet and who know their triggers wonder at times if perhaps our reaction to the foods we malabsorb has changed. Well I tested this out a couple of times. Watch my video to see what happened.
Hi Suzanne,
I dare not stray from the basic FODMAP portion or limits on vegetables or fruits. I also have fructose malabsorption. So I think I must stay with my limited foods which some have turned into sensetivities! Which means i can no longer eat them! I have a cows milk allergy as well…marking getting variety difficult. Hope you’re feeling better. Not such a nice feeling! I even have medicine for severe cramps where I can barely breathe. I have been able to increase my avocado portions without symptoms, but afraid of much else.
You should go through the testing stage so you can expand your diet or your gut bacteria balance will get compromised. It’s really important to complete the 3 stages of the diet to create your own individual diet. Fructose is one of the Fodmap groups so it is not extra but a part of the low Fodmap diet. You should not be getting cramps if you are sticking to the diet. Something is not right.
